To apply for the High Degrees is to agree to continue on the Path. It is to respond to the inner call to deepen the Work, to live the Rite to the full and to integrate oneself into a greater spiritual mission: collective, universal and transformative.
Who can apply
As Fernando Pessoa wrote in MENSAGEM, “it will take EVERYONE, EVERYONE, EVERYONE.”
This inclusive and transcendent vocation means that the High Degrees are open to ALL Master Masons, of ALL Obediences, without distinction. Because only with the presence of EVERYONE can the greater purpose of spiritual union and collective consciousness that the Portuguese Rite proposes be fulfilled.
Why should I apply?
It is more important than ever to be a Mason of Thought, Word and Deed. Nowadays we can’t just do Initiations, Passages to Companions and Exaltations to Masters.
It is essential to seek out the true meaning of the Symbols, Words and Allegories that we use in our rituals and in the Order’s Ceremonies.

Applications are analyzed by the Supreme Council on the basis of eligibility, motivation and adherence to the principles of the Portuguese Rite. Filling in this form is the first formal step in the process of admission to the High Degrees.
